Dear Jennifer, I have never planted sweet peas from seed-put I would imagine they are no different than any other pea. Plant early, as they do start to lag when the weather gets too hot, and they need time to grow. I have had them prosper into July, but I have no idea what our summer will be like.
Thanks for posting this, Deborah. The pansies are really beautiful. I appreciate the ideas for what to put in a pot with pansies. I usually cannot find anything to plant with them in my pots and the garden centers here seem to offer JUST pansies. I will consider sweet peas on a little withy. :) Is it best to plant those from seed? I am in zone 6a, Cincinnati area. PS I also love planting pansies in the fall and having them return in the spring.

Hi Deborah,

My friends and I enjoy your blog and website. In fact, we enjoy them so much that we want to let you know we are making the trek from Chicago to the Detroit area and plan on visiting Detroit Garden Works Tuesday. We can't wait to see in person all the wonderful things we have seen online.
