At A Glance: Making Changes

This client added a roof over her front door in 2005.  Since then, the front door plantings have been different every year.  What can be seasonally changed in a landscape is part of my enduring interest in gardening.

This front door got a new walk, and an updated landscape in 2006.  It took a while to find just the right pots for the space.  So much a part of knowing what to do is the willingness to try different things.

  1. Beautiful pictures! I agree…it is so nice to have the chance to try something new. All of those different container combinations have such interest to them! I love choosing plant combos for my front pots, but I do feel a bit of pressure to make excellent choices since it will be there at least until fall!!

There’s always that pressure. But sometimes your taste changes, or you get interested in something different. It is great to have a place to express that.

  2. Well that’s a fun look at all the possibilities. I love the more color containers the best, at least in that space. I think 2008 and 2010 are my favorites but really, I love them all.

Dear Erin, old favorites are all about a time gone by. New favorites-of the moment. New or old, look at the possibilities. Thanks for your letter, Deborah
